An introduction to sewing with jersey knits for those who know how to use a sewing machine, perhaps have made basic woven garments, and are ready to progress onto sewing with knit fabrics. All materials included to make your t-shirt, plus you take home your own paper sewing pattern to use again and again.
Classes are held at my home studio in Cheam, Surrey. Details and directions are provided with booking confirmation.
During this 5 week course you will make a T-Shirt. We will be using the WBT T-Shirt Pattern by 'Wardrobe by Me'. This pattern has a choice of 3 lengths, 4 sleeves and 5 necklines, so you can tailor your T-Shirt to suit your style. Patterns for both Men's and Women's wear are available to use.

Dates: Wednesday 8th June - Wednesday 6th July (5 Weeks)
Time: 10:00am - 12:00pm (2 hours)
Level: Confident Beginner garment-maker. You should be able to wind a bobbin, thread a machine, do a straight stitch, do a back-stitch, follow a seam allowance.
Class Size: 4
10 hours of sewing tuition divided across 5, 2-hour lessons with a class size of 4.
Your own WBT T-Shirt sewing pattern to keep.
1.5m of high quality cotton elastane jersey in a choice of colours.
Use of all machines and tools.
Gutermann sew-all Threads.
Tea, coffee and light refreshments.

Minimum Class Size:
The minimum class size for this course is 4 participants. Should this number not be reached, the class will not be able to run. Flying Bobbins will strive to find a solution, however, in some cases, classes may have to be cancelled due to low numbers. You will be kept informed at all times and a full refund will be given for any cancelled courses.
Cancellation Policy & Absence:
Full payment for the class shall be taken at point of booking to secure your place.
Should you wish to cancel, please let me know as soon as possible. Cancellations made less than 3 weeks in advance will be charged at 50%.
If you can't make one of the classes, every effort will be made to accommodate you on another class, however this cannot be guaranteed. No refund will be given for missed classes.
In the unlikely event that the class cannot go ahead due to teacher absence, alternative arrangements will be made and a range of dates will be offered to the class. A refund for the missed class will be given where no suitable alternative can be arranged.
Classes will be run in line with current government guidelines regarding the control of Coronavirus. Participants will be expected to follow guidelines at all times to ensure safety of the class. Due to the shifting nature of the situation, detailed information on Covid policy compliance will be emailed out near to the start of the course. Should a class be cancelled due to a Coronavirus case, alternative dates will be offered. Should lockdown restrictions be implemented, alternative dates, or online classes will be offered, if these are not suitable for you, you can choose to receive a full refund.
