For those who want to learn to sew, or those returning to sewing after a break. This class is suitable for complete beginners. All equipment, tools and materials will be provided. All you have to do is come along, have fun and learn!
Classes are held at my home studio in Cheam, Surrey. Details and directions are provided with booking confirmation.
During this 4 week course you will learn to make a drawstring bag, a zip pouch and a simple, lined tote bag. A fabric pack will be provided in a selection of gorgeous, co-ordinated fabrics. Additional patterns and sew-along kits can be purchased so you can repeat the projects and continue your learning at home. You will get a 10% discount on all sewing kits throughout the duration of your course.
How to thread a machine. Sewing with a straight stitch. Inserting a zip. Lining a bag. Making boxed corners. Adding a drawstring.
Dates: Thursday 9th September - Thursday 30th September (4 lessons)
Time: 10:00am - 12:00 noon (2 hours)
Level: Complete beginner, no skills, knowledge or experience necessary.
Class Size: 4
8 hours of sewing tuition divided across 4, 2-hour lessons.
Patterns and instructions for the projects covered.
All fabric and trims needed.

Minimum Class Size:
The minimum class size for this course is 4 participants. Should this number not be reached, the class will not be able to run. Flying Bobbins will strive to find a solution, however, in some cases, classes may have to be cancelled due to low numbers. You will be kept informed at all times and a full refund will be given for any cancelled courses.
Cancellation Policy & Absence:
Full payment for the class shall be taken at point of booking to secure your place.
Should you wish to cancel, please let me know as soon as possible. Cancellations made less than 3 weeks in advance will be charged at 50%.
If you can't make one of the classes, every effort will be made to accommodate you on another class, however this cannot be guaranteed. No refund will be given for missed classes.
In the unlikely event that the class cannot go ahead due to teacher absence, alternative arrangements will be made and a range of dates will be offered to the class. A refund for the missed class will be given where no suitable alternative can be arranged.
Classes will be run in line with current government guidelines regarding the control of Coronavirus. Participants will be expected to follow guidelines at all times to ensure safety of the class. Due to the shifting nature of the situation, detailed information on Covid policy compliance will be emailed out near to the start of the course. Should a class be cancelled due to a Coronavirus case, alternative dates will be offered. Should lockdown restrictions be implemented, alternative dates, or online classes will be offered, if these are not suitable for you, you can choose to receive a full refund.
