A snug and cosy class for sewists looking to expand their sewing skills into working with knit fabrics. On making the Billie sweatshirt you will learn about working with French Terry or Fleece and Knitted Fabrics. You will learn how to cut and make a sweatshirt or sweater dress with optional pockets and puff sleeve detail.
The course price includes your own Billie paper pattern. The fabric needed for this project is not included. You will get 10% off of any fabrics purchased from Flying Bobbins, or you can bring your own fabric.
Classes are held at my home studio in Cheam, Surrey. Details and directions are provided with booking confirmation.
Billie can be made as a sweatshirt or a dress. You can make with puff or plain sleeves and add pockets at the dress side seams.

How to combine sizes and make length pattern adjustments.

Dates: Tuesday 10th January - Tuesday 7th February (5 Weeks)
Time: 7:30pm - 9:30pm (2 hours)
Level: Beginner garment-maker. You should be able to use a machine with confidence and have some experience of garment making and reading patterns.
Class Size: 4 - 6
10 hours of sewing tuition divided across 5, 2-hour lessons with a class size of 4 - 6.
Your own Tilly and the Buttons Billie paper sewing pattern to keep.
10% off of a choice of fabrics.
Use of all sewing, pressing and cutting tools.
Use of Pfaff Sewing Machines and Juki Overlocker.
Gutermann sew-all and overlocker Threads.
Tea, coffee and light refreshments.

Minimum Class Size:
The minimum class size for this course is 4 participants. Should this number not be reached, the class will not be able to run. Flying Bobbins will strive to find a solution, however, in some cases, classes may have to be cancelled or combined due to low numbers. You will be kept informed at all times and a full refund will be given for any cancelled courses.
Cancellation Policy & Absence:
Full payment for the class shall be taken at point of booking to secure your place.
Should you wish to cancel, please let me know as soon as possible. Cancellations made less than 2 weeks in advance will be charged at 50%.
If you can't make one of the classes, every effort will be made to accommodate you on another class, however this cannot be guaranteed. No refund will be given for missed classes.
In the unlikely event that the class cannot go ahead due to teacher absence, alternative arrangements will be made and a range of dates will be offered to the class. A refund for the missed class will be given where no suitable alternative can be arranged.
Classes will be run in line with current government guidelines regarding the control of Coronavirus. Participants will be expected to follow guidelines at all times to ensure safety of the class.
