Make yourself a pair of lovey, printed summer shorts. This project is quick and simple. If you are learning how to sew and are looking for a first 'dress making' project, this is it! Accompanied by a series of comprehensive and easy to follow videos, you will learn how to cut out your pattern and fabric and construct and finish your shorts.
In this project, we use the Tilly and the Buttons Jaimie pyjama pants pattern. The paper pattern is included in the kit and comes with full colour instruction booklet by award winning pattern company, Tilly and the Buttons. This pattern also includes full length pyjama bottoms, so you can progress onto making pyjama trousers once you have mastered the techniques involved.
If you already have the Jaimie, or other pyjama shorts pattern, then you can opt to buy this kit without the pattern.
I have designed a simple pocket piece which works with this pattern so that you can add pockets. If you wish to do this, then I suggest lengthening the shorts a little to accommodate the pocket bag. I have provided two sewing kit options, one containing a longer piece of fabric to allow you to make the shorts a little longer and add pockets.
This pattern goes from a size UK 4 to UK 24 (waist 56cm/22" - 106.5cm/42")
Includes 1m of fabric and is suitable for making short 'cami' style shorts.
Includes 1.5m of fabric. The extra fabric allows you to lengthen the shorts and add in-seam pockets. The pocket construction is also included in the video sew-along.
Included in your kit:
A Jaimie Pyjama pants pattern by Tilly and the Buttons.
A length of 'Kasuri Tiles' printed cotton by Japanese brand Sevenberry
A matching reel of thread
A 1.2m length of 25mm wide waistband elastic
A 1m length of co-ordinating cotton tape to make a bow at the front
A pocket pattern piece
All presented in a Flying Bobbins gift box wrapped with tissue, ribbon and love.
