Supplies:

The Flying Bobbins Weekender Bag paper sewing pattern is included in the class price. You can choose to buy a full kit, a trims kit or bring your own supplies. Kits can be pre-ordered and collected on the first lesson. If bringing your own supplies, please bring with your to the first class.

About this course

A 6 week in depth course, during we will make the Flying Bobbins Weekender Bag. This bag has many features and you will learn an array of skills and techniques. This class is suitable for those with sewing experience including working with woven fabrics.

We will be using the Flying Bobbins Weekender Bag Pattern in this course.

Week 1

Cutting out and gathering supplies.

Week 2

Sewing the quilted lining.
Sewing the interior patch pocket.

Week 3

Sewing the interior zip pocket.
Sewing the exterior pocket.

Week 4

Adding the grab handles.

Week 5

Inserting the zip.
Creating the side tabs

Week 6

Sewing the base.
Adding the adjustable strap.

What's Included

All sewing machines and tools are provided. You can bring your own sewing machine if you prefer.

The paper pattern is included. You can choose to purchase a full kit, a trims kit or, you can bring your own supplies from the list provided.

12 hours of sewing tuition divided across 6, 2-hour lessons.

Bag Fabric 0.7m x at 140cm wide for the main bag (Leatherette, Canvas, Denim, Twill, Half-Panama)
Printed Cotton 1.2m at 140cm wide for the lining
Contrast Fabric/PU x 0.25m at 140cm wide for the trim
Fusible Fleece x 1m
Decovil (or similar) 50cm x 23cm piece for bag base
Sew-All Thread to match the main and lining fabrics
Top-Stitch Thread to match the contrast trim
20cm zip x 1 for the internal pocket
75cm Continuous Zip with 2 pullers for the main bag
Binding x 40cm for the internal pocket
30mm Webbing x 3m for the strap
30mm Swivel Snap Hooks x 2

Booking Terms

Full payment for the class shall be taken at point of booking to secure your place.

Minimum Class Size:

The minimum class size for this course is 4 participants. Should this number not be reached, the class will not be able to run. Flying Bobbins will strive to find a solution, however, in some cases, classes may have to be cancelled due to low numbers. You will be kept informed at all times and a full refund will be given for any cancelled courses.

Cancellation Policy:

Should you wish to cancel, please let me know as soon as possible. Cancellations made less than 3 weeks in advance will be charged at 50%.

Absence:

If you can't make one of the classes, every effort will be made to accommodate you on another class, however this cannot be guaranteed. No refund will be given for missed classes.

In the unlikely event that the class cannot go ahead due to teacher absence, alternative arrangements will be made and a range of dates will be offered to the class. A refund for the missed class will be given where no suitable alternative can be arranged.

Illness:

If you feel unwell, please do not attend. Every effort will be made to find an alternative class so that you can catch up. Video tuition will be provided where available.
