About this course

A four week sewing course suitable for established beginners. Learn how to make a zipped tote bag with pockets and contrasting panels. The pace of the class is calm and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. This class is perfect for beginners ready to move onto bigger projects and those returning to sewing after a break. The class is held in the Flying Bobbins sewing cabin.

Project Details

We will be using the Flying Bobbins Zip Tote Bag Kit in this course.

Week 1

  • Making the exterior of your bag. Adding straps and making an in seam pocket.

Week 2

  • Making your bag lining. Sewing the internal pockets
  • Using fusible fleece.

Week 3

  • Inserting a zip.
  • Creating boxed bag corners.

Week 4

  • Finishing your bag.
  • Making a matching boxed make-up bag (optional).

What's Included

All equipment, tools and materials will be provided. All you have to do is come along, have fun and learn! You will also receive the paper patterns for the projects made so that you can make them again at home.

Booking Terms

Full payment for the class shall be taken at point of booking to secure your place. Cash payments cannot be accepted for classes.

Minimum Class Size:

The minimum class size for this course is 4 participants.  Should this number not be reached, the class will not be able to run.  Flying Bobbins will strive to find a solution, however, in some cases, classes may have to be cancelled due to low numbers.  You will be kept informed at all times and a full refund will be given for any cancelled courses.

Cancellation Policy:

Should you wish to cancel, please let me know as soon as possible.  Cancellations made less than 3 weeks in advance will be charged at 50%.

Absence:

If you can't make one of the classes, every effort will be made to accommodate you on another class, however this cannot be guaranteed.  No refund will be given for missed classes.

In the unlikely event that the class cannot go ahead due to teacher absence, alternative arrangements will be made and a range of dates will be offered to the class.  A refund for the missed class will be given where no suitable alternative can be arranged.

Illness:

If you feel unwell, please do not attend.  Every effort will be made to find an alternative class so that you can catch up. Video tuition will be provided where available.
